German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock reiterated that Germany will support Israel despite heavy civilian casualties, laying the blame on Hamas.
“I made it clear at the United Nations that civilian locations can lose their protected status
because terrorists exploit that,” she added.
This statement aligns with Chancellor Scholz’s recent commitment to continue supplying weapons to Israeli forces, emphasising Germany’s strong stance on backing Israel in its ongoing war on Gaza.
Germany is responsible for nearly 30 percent of arms sales to Israel, making it the largest source of Israel’s access to weapons after the United States.
