This is the Spolarium, one of the most famous paintings in the world. In 1884, Juan Luna and Felix Resurreccion Hidalgo won the gold and silver medals at the Madrid Art Exposition. Juan Luna's Spolarium painting inspired the likes of Jose Rizal, and the Spolarium inspired nationalism among Filipinos and opened their eyes to Spanish Oppression. Contributing to the following event which was the Philippine Revolution.
